Join "Defeat RTW in Wisconsin" at the annual May Day Solidarity March in Milwaukee on May 1st, organized by immigrant rights/workers center Voces de la Frontera.
 
Join us at 11am at the corner of 5th and Mineral st. behind the big banner reading "Working class unite and fight!"

We will march as a contingent of workers from all sectors opposed to "right to work" and other attacks on workers and immigrants.

Discussion on Layoff Procedures Under Civil Service

 
April 13, 2015 The Wisconsin Science Professionals (WSP/AFT) have scheduled a discussion/presentation on Layoff Provisions. It’s  on Monday, April 13, 2015, starting at  4:30 pm and ending at 7:30 pm at Brocach Restaurant and Pub in Madison – On the Square. 7 West Main Street, Madison, Wisconsin, 53703 (608) 255.2015.   Attorney Tim Hawks will speak about the rules that apply to state employees with regard to layoff procedures under current civil service law. Madison Dems Hold Listening Session on Budget Impacts on UW

Thursday, March 12, 2015:  "Several Democratic lawmakers from Madison are holding a listening session Thursday on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus to gather public input on the governor's proposed $300 million budget cut and new public authority for the UW System.

The session from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Room B130 of Van Vieck Hall, 480 Lincoln Dr., is to be hosted by Sen. Fred Risser, Rep. Terese Berceau, Rep. Chris Taylor and Rep. Lisa Subeck.

Here is a list of the official public hearings hosted by the Joint Committee on Finance:

March 18 – Brillion (near Appleton) at the Brillion High School Endries Performing Arts Center,
W1101 County Road HR, Brillion. Hearing starts at 10:00 a.m and ends promptly at 5:00 p.m.

March 20- Milwaukee at Alverno College’s Pitman Theatre, 3400 South 43rd Street, Milwaukee. This hearing will start at 10:00 a.m. and end at 5:00 p.m.
