Join Madison Teachers Inc, AFSCME, South Central Federation of Labor, and the Teaching Assistants’ Association on Thursday, February 14, at the Wisconsin State Capitol State Street entrance for a solidarity sing-a-long at 4:45 and candlelight vigil at 5:15 pm.
Earlier, the AFT-W Local 3220 (TAA) and United Faculty and Academic Staff at UW-Madison will gather at 4:30 pm on the UW Library Mall, marching to the State Capitol –back where it all started, at 5 pm.
Two years after the historic Wisconsin Uprising began, the struggle to protect quality public education and workers’ rights continues in our state and our communities.
Following the event, folks are asked to move to Brocach Irish Pub on the Capital Square (E. Main St) from 6 pm-12 am for a Solidarity Celebration, commemorating the day that sparked the Wisconsin Uprising.
